Beer!

Yesterday, I found such a place, where a kind man explained how to make Picon beer.

The one down side of the rural nature of this region is the distance between watering holes. The fragmented public transport system doesn’t help and I don’t want to drive Shimamoto and have a drink.

Consequently, when I do feel like a day on the sauce, and I’ve found a nice little town with some decent bars, it’s a challenge.

Yesterday, I found such a place, where a kind man explained how to make Picon beer. You take a glass of blond or white beer and add a measure of Amer Bier. This bitter orange aperitif turns the beer blood red. Unfortunately, I could only imagine what it tasted like. Nevertheless, there’s always today.

In the absence of the Bletchley Circle, I have to crack the enigma that is the Lineotime bus timetable – not one but two, if I am to have my Saturday afternoon out and a taste of Biére Picon.

Somehow the Metro to the ‘Cat seems so much more straightforward!

So, it’s with the trepidation of an Arctic explorer that I set off today, to the bus stop in the village. Wish me luck and I’ll have part two of a brand new story for your Sunday morning coffee, (Part one below). Provided I can make it home!
