Today was, as they say in these parts, a bonne journée, a good day. Like a delicious meal, None of it was wasted. The plate was licked clean, from the minute the day was served this morning, until it had been fully consumed this evening.
Speaking of food (and drink) we attended an exhibition of the home in Morlaix. It had everything from tractors (yes, the love them!) to candied fruit and vegetable crisps.
Somewhere in between these extremes were the most delicious cheeses and delightful wines.
We gobbled samples of thirty six month old cheese from the Savoie and wine flavoured with sage from Alsace.
All of this was presented by people who clearly loved their produce and were by no means pushy. However, I nearly got carried away and spent sixty Euros on wasabi nuts! Nevertheless, Christine saved my blushes.
I took a leisurely Sunday drive to the port of Locquirec, where the locals, and some families, enjoying the last day of the holidays, flooded in. There were more cars on the roads than I’d seen previously which still wasn’t many.
During our tour, I received the strangest of messages. My beautiful Muse had got married on Saturday! Of course I was pleased for her! Even the little green monster may have cracked a smile on that rock hard face of hers.
In the evening, I enjoyed a pleasant dinner of pork chop and mash, followed by some of our cheese purchases. As Christine said at the end of the meal, it had been a bonne journée.
Part three, I’m enjoying this one. Hope you are too.
